The Muu of Jileso are a Minor Non-Human Race native to Astron Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

This is an aquatic species native to Jileso. They are swimmers but prefer a seabed environment.

Muu are streamlined Piscinoids descended from long, sinewy carnivore chasers. They have a number of specialized tentacle clusters around their heads that function as manipulators. These tentacles are strong enough to act as rudimentary legs, allowing them to "walk" through confined spaces.

They can curl their lower body into a supporting spiral and remain upright, allowing them to perform complex tasks.

Psychology[edit]

The Muu exhibit recognized characteristics of intelligence:

  • Conceptual thought, including abstract language.
  • Social structure, including social organization.
  • Tool use, allowing environmental manipulation.

Muu psychology is driven by factors common to many sophonts:

  • Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
  • Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
  • Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).

Demographics[edit]

The total known population equals 70 million individuals.

Native Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 9 (friendly)
  • Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
  • Symbols: D (very abstract)

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Red is Naylyoeatru. Yellow is other sophont homeworlds.

The Chowwar, Enchai, Huuran, Muu, and Nagad all appear to have evolved intelligence at the same time.

All five species retain almost identical dormant markers within their genetic makeup.

  • Other than the timing of their emergent sapience, they have few other biological or chemical similarities.

Timeline[edit]

Astrography[edit]

This race is primarily located in the following areas:
Charted Space:

Homeworld[edit]

The homeworld of this race is:

Urbanization[edit]

Multiple large urban centers are located on rugged regions of the seabed. They are surrounded by satellite communities.

  • Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
  • Much of the world remains as wilderness.

Local Technology[edit]

Jileso possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

Local Government[edit]

Jileso has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

Local Law[edit]

Jileso has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.

World Listing: 1105[edit]

Significant communities of this race are known to dwell within the following systems and worlds:
