Jileso is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.

  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
  • It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Haddox Subsector of Astron Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Jileso has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been remotely surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Jileso is a Twilight Zone World.

  • One side of the world permanently faces towards the star and one side permanently faces away.
  • In the narrow region between permanent night and permanent day, the primary star eternally hangs on the horizon.

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones prime H region.
  • It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Jileso is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Jileso has a pressure of 2.5 or greater atmospheres. A Dense & High Pressure Atmosphere typically requires no survival gear under many conditions. Pressure at or below sea level is too great to support life but is breathable at higher altitudes. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Jileso has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.

  • Far more detailed maps are available locally.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

A basic map of Jileso.

Jileso is a Twilight Zone World.

  • The Hot Face permanently faces towards the star and experiences high temperatures.
  • The Cold Face permanently faces away from the star and experiences low temperatures.
  • A temperate zone (shown as the equator) lies between the two extremes and experiences moderate temperatures.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant, diverse aquatic native life filling every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Jileso is busy, with an expanding economy and rising standards of living.

  • The resources of the system are being exploited.

It is the homeworld of the Muu.

  • They are large, fish-like, tentacle-headed aquatic predators with long streamlined bodies.
  • First contact occurred millennia ago.

Many businesses, organizations, and private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
  • Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Zdetl.
  • Multiple commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • A number of vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

At around the same point in history (circa -250,000), five separate species – the Chowwar, Enchai, Huuran, Muu, and Nagad – all evolved intelligence.

  • The Muu and all four other species share dormant, nearly identical markers within their genetic makeup.
  • The homeworlds of all five species lie within the same general region.
  • Other than the timing of their emergent sapience, they have few other biological or chemical similarities.
  • At almost exactly the same time, Droyne were transplanted onto Naylyoeatru.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Jileso has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Jileso has a population of 70 million Muu.

  • There are around 3000 Droyne present on the world, principally located around the starport facilities.

Urbanization[edit]

Multiple large urban centers are located on rugged regions of the seabed. They are surrounded by satellite communities.

  • Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
  • Much of the world remains as wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Jileso possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Jileso has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Military[edit]

Approximately 200,000 personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Jileso has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 9 (moderate)
  • Labor: 6 (millions)
  • Infrastructure: 6 (limited)
  • Efficiency: -3 (poor)

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 2 (ordinary)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 9 (friendly)
  • Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
  • Symbols: D (very abstact)
