Zoggong Orseg is an icy, low-population world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • The mainworld orbits the secondary brown dwarf substellar object.
  • This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
  • This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
  • This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Zoggong Orseg is a trinary star system.

  • The primary is a turbulent red giant.
  • The secondary is a brown dwarf substellar object.
  • The tertiary is a brown dwarf substellar object.
Zoggong Orseg has three stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Zoggong Orseg orbits the secondary brown dwarf substellar object.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg has 15-25% of its surface covered by ice, either in vast sheets or contained deep within craters or fractures on the surface. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants can be got by mining and melting ice.

  • The surface of the world is composed of a crust of ice many kilometers thick.
  • Much of the surface is cratered and covered in thick layers of regolith and dust of meteoric origin, leaving only around 20% of the icy outer shell exposed.
  • Below the outer icy shell there may be a world-ocean of liquid water.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg has a population of 20,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population entirely consists of Vargr.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Zoggong Orseg has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 1 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: C (very abundant)
  • Labor: 1 (tens)
