The name "Yano" is likely derived from the Pilipino word meaning 'simple; plain'.

Along with that of Daboyel, the base at Yano supports naval patrol operations in the central cluster of the subsector.

This world has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. After the devastation causes by the comet the original settles of Yano were either killed or evacuated. The resettled population is a mixture of both pure Solomani and mixed-Humaniti.

Uniquely for the Solomani controlled pieces of the sector non-Solomani citizens have an equal access to high-skilled occupations as their Solomani peers. These positions are filled on a pure merit based assessment.

Historical Data

The Yano system was colonized by the Terran confederation after the Ninth Interstellar War. Yano’s small Solomani population was almost entirely wiped out by a comet impact in 983. After years of debate in the Secretariat Yano was resettled with colonist from throughout the sector.
