Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Upllor has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Upllor is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Upllor has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Upllor has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world was an old Vilani colony, which lost its technology during the Long Night, reverting to TL-3. When the Graytch investigated the world, they found extensive forests and jungles that were well suited to their needs, and relatively untouched by the Human colonies.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Upllor has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world is host to a Scout Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Upllor has a population of 500,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- Around 50% of the population consists of humans and other sophonts.
- About 50% of the population is made up of Graytch.
Urbanization[edit]
The Graytch, who prefer a colder environment, primarily inhabit the subpolar and polar regions.
Graytch structures are of local material and rustic design. A typical Graytch structure has huge uprights taking the place of their homeworld's tree-trunks. Between these are strung pseudo vines and branches, the arrangement of which is a hallmark of Graytch designers.
Great dirigibles ply the trade routes between Human and Graytch cities, and commerce is brisk.
World Languages[edit]
The following languages are most commonly heard:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Ga-ray-cha, the primary language of the Graytch.
- Kehuu, the primary Lancian language, as common on the worlds of the Cultural Region as Anglic or Vilani.
- Ushi, a language used throughout Gushemege Sector.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Upllor possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Upllor is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)[edit]
Upllor has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
- In Graytch courts, a judicial board is established for each trial session, the board members drawn from the public at large. The board act as judge and jury, and also handle sentencing. The Agency of Justice appoints an advisor to ensure that all goes smoothly.
- Graytch legal codes treat almost all crime as an example of mental illness, and hand out banishment as one of their most substantial punishments.
Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]
Upllor, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate and fiefdom of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
