Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard. |
The Sokhkhun class Raider Q-Carrier is a pirate warship.
- It is a paramilitary ship and a Raider Q-Carrier.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Built to compliment the Nolrrgairrai Strike Fighter, this unusual Raider Q-Ship is an uncommon design among Vargr Corsair Vessels. Based on an old freighter, this ship is supposed to look like an innocent aging merchant but with hidden guns and a flight of fighters, this is a lethal raider when used correctly. The hangar capacity means this is a slow ship and has to rely on it’s fighter wing and armaments for defence. A few of these ships have made it into civilian use, they then see use as escorts, giving vulnerable merchants fighter cover.
Normal crew consists of Captain, Flight Chief, 2 Pilots, Navigator, Medic, 3 Engineers, 2 Mechanics, 4 Gunners, 6 Fighter pilots. Usual fighter load is x6 20 Ton Nolrrgarrai Fighters. The Sokhkhun is a TL-10 Design.

Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
Vessel Peculiarities: No information yet available.
Class Naming Practice/s: The Sokhkhun and the Nolrrgarrai are symbiotic lifeforms native to Lair (world). They are hunting partners, two lifeforms that benefit and aid each other in the tracking down of small and large prey. Some Terrans biologists compare them to great white sharks and lampreys except that the lampreys in this case aid and abet the larger hunter, feasting on its leftovers as well as subsiding on the blood of the larger predator. Vargr have long admired the relationship. The Nolrrgarrai harass the prey, weakening it, and the Sokhkhun, a fearsome beast on its own, finishes off the prey. The Vargr love naming corsair and raider vessels after this interesting biological duo. [3]
