Maq'appav is a vacuum world, with no atmosphere or hydrosphere. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Maq'appav, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. 100% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Ziadd. During the Long Night this world was named Nais.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Much of the local food is made from D'Ghrual, a unique type of pseudo-algae which thrives in vacuum.

History and Background[edit]

This world is a small, self-sufficient Ziadd mining colony. Recent valuable ore finds have promised to transform the importance of Maq'appav. Interests on Zeda (Dagudashaag 0721) are putting up financing for further exploration and development of the starport. Preliminary agreements have been signed with corporations in Gushemege Sector for the bulk of the ores, and with Nueva Esperanza (Dagudashaag 0123) as a storage and shipping site.

World Starport[edit]

Maq'appav has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Maq'appav has a population of 9,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

World Demographics[edit]

The inhabitants are Ziadd, drawn from several Chaiklin.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

Urbanization[edit]

Ziadd structures tend to be solid and blocky and are usually heavily decorated. Many fly flags and banners declaring allegiance and status.

World Technology Level[edit]

Maq'appav possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government[edit]

Maq'appav is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

World Law (L)[edit]

Maq'appav has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Economy[edit]

Currency is the Quetzal.

Each planet within the Amec Protectorate must pay the Tlatoani a tribute (originally it was a proper tithe of 10% of overall production but over the years it increased to 12%).

  • The local bureaucracy retains 6% while the other 6% is sold under the AzTec label to help maintain the court and pay for the Amec Navy.
