Chaiklin

A social unit among the Ziadd Minor Human Race.

Chaiklin is a word in Klatha'sh. It is typically translated as "clan", though literally the word means "children". The chief of the group is viewed as the father and the people are his figurative offspring.

Some chaiklin took to living nomadic lives in space following the long-ago conquest of their worlds by the Ushran Empire. These are known as the Chaiklin Khu'ch, or "Star Clans". Ziadd Corsairs have often been drawn from these chaiklin.

As of the 1100s, there were 32 major chaiklin.
