Judice is a barren fluid hellworld with oceans consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- This world has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is a client state of the Third Imperium in the District 268 Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
- This world has a research station engaged in the scientific pursuit of knowledge.
- Judice is a member of the Spinward Main.
- Judice is a member of the Collace Arm.
Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Judice has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Judice’s environment is extremely harsh. The planet’s surface is a barren wasteland of rock and sand that has been blasted and scorched by the corrosive atmosphere, which consists primarily of gaseous nitric acid. What little precipitation falls is quite literally acid rain, and scars the tortured landscape with jagged crevasses and canyons before running off into the small "seas".
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Judice is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Judice has a Corrosive Atmosphere and possesses a concentrated gas mix or unusual temperature which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit. TL–9 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The mean surface temperature is a sultry 33°C.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Judice has 15-25% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- This surface fluid consists of liquid nitric acid.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Judice is so absolutely unsuited for habitation by any of the major species that no government, corporation, or individual bothered to lay claim to it until the early 1100s. At that point, the planet began to excite great interest in the interstellar scientific community due to the discovery of a group of complex lifeforms that had somehow managed to evolve and flourish in the hellish environment of Judice’s nitric acid seas. Several reputable xenologists have even theorized that certain of these lifeforms possessed a limited degree of sentience.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In 1103, Imperial Research Station Theta was established just offshore of the largest sea with the mission of studying the world's exotic and fascinating lifeforms.
It is part of the Kaharoht Run, a Mewey trade route that forms part of the Collace Arm of the Spinward Main.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Judice has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Judice is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Judice possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Judice has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Law (L)[edit]
Judice has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
