Gazog is a pre-agricultural, nonindustrial garden world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most forms of sophontic life.
  • It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to gradually rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Ruler of Five in the Gadoeth Subsector of Gzaekfueg Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Gazog is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a yellow main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Gazog has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Gazog is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Gazog has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Gazog has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Gazog has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

  • The world is host to a Vargr Corsair Base.
  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

World Population (P)[edit]

Gazog has a population of 50,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

Urbanization[edit]

The territorial Urzaeng do not share the gregarious nature of other Vargr. Their communities tend to be quite spread out, with fences and walls marking their boundaries.

  • The Urzaeng have a disdain for weakness. Runts, elderly, and the chronically ill are usually collected into separate communities. Someone with a temporary illness is wise to seclude himself from the public until he recovers.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Gazog possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Gazog has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law (L)[edit]

Gazog has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -2 (very unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 9 (moderate)
  • Labor: 3 (thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
  • Efficiency: -3 (poor)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 6 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 5 (very aloof)
  • Strangeness: 2 (typical)
  • Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
