Chuño has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Chuño has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)

Chuño is a low population Solomani Confederation world in Black Jack Subsector of Magyar.

The system contains a research station; it is the site of Research Station Mu.

Confederation scientists have transplanted Chirpers to Chuño. The new Chirper colony is thriving in the low gravity and favorable atmosphere.

World Starport (St)

Chuño has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Chuño has population of 300 sophonts (hundreds).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
• Around 60% of the population (approximately 180 individuals) are Chirpers.
• About 40% of the population (roughly 120 individuals) consists of humans and other sophonts.

The most commonly heard languages are:

• Anglic, the official language of the Confederation.
• Oynprith, a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Droyne and Chirper communities.
