Friton is an agricultural, nonindustrial, garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to moderately rise in the near future.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Zalucha Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
  • This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It lies on the Delphi Main.
  • At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Khirki.
  • This world was colonized by and is controlled from Porto.
  • It was once home to a small community of Chirpers.

System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data

Mainworld Size (S)

Friton is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Friton has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Friton has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

At the time of the founding of the Imperium, Friton was home to a small community of Chirpers. They are now extinct, though a few ruined structures remain.

The world lies on the Delphi Main, an important trade route lying within the sector.

World Starport (St)

Friton has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)

Friton has a population of 3,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Technology Level (T)

Friton possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
