"Freedom by the sword" or "living on a knife edge" are the meanings of the [[Ziadd]] word ''Oeth'', and the population of this world have taken the right to bear arms to new heights. All persons living on this world must carry at least one weapon at all times, and all government posts are held until the incumbent is assassinated. The killing of a member of the government is considered "every citizen's right of free speech" and not a crime.

Oeth supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Shallows Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Oeth, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. 100% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Ziadd. During the Long Night this world was named Kikar.

System Data[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Oeth is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Oeth has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Oeth has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

No information yet available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No information yet available.

History and Background[edit]

"Freedom by the sword" or "living on a knife edge" are the meanings of the Ziadd word Oeth, and the population of this world have taken the right to bear arms to new heights. All persons living on this world must carry at least one weapon at all times, and all government posts are held until the incumbent is assassinated. The killing of a member of the government is considered "every citizen's right of free speech" and not a crime.

World Starport[edit]

Oeth has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Oeth has a population of 6,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

World Demographics[edit]

Ziadd2-Osborne-Signal-GK 15-Sept-2019a.png

Its 6,000 registered inhabitants are Ziadd.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used here:

Urbanization[edit]

Ziadd structures tend to be solid and blocky and are usually heavily decorated. Many fly flags and banners declaring allegiance and status.

World Technology Level[edit]

Oeth possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Oeth is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

World Law (L)[edit]

Oeth has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
