Al Ezen is a rich, nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- It has high-grade living conditions and life on this world is much admired by off-worlders.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Opposition Alliance in the Mersol Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Al Ezen has a solitary primary star.
- It is a white main sequence.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Al Ezen is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Al Ezen has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Al Ezen has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)
World Starport (St)
Al Ezen has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)
Al Ezen has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The population largely consists of Vargr.
- A few humans may also be encountered.
World Technology Level (T)
Al Ezen possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)
Al Ezen is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)
Al Ezen has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).

World Timeline
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump technology and gradually spread from their homeworld, primarily following Mains.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the region.
- -2404 to -2215: the human Interstellar Wars rage to rimward.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man nominally administers the rimward worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- -1998: the First Empire of Gashikan is formed.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1658: the Sack of Gashikan, an atrocity known throughout the coreward parts of Charted Space.
- -1483 to -321: the Gashikan Race Wars rage between human and Vargr extremists across the Extents.
- -1427: the Wolvesbane plague is released in Gashikan Sector, decimating Vargr populations.
- The Year 0: to rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- circa 26: the Empire of Varroerth is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- late 800s: the Ngath Confederation begins to form and gradually absorbs neutral worlds and smaller polities.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- circa 1040: the 17th Disjuncture is founded and rapidly brings neutral worlds under its banner, directly competing with the Ngath Confederation.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
