The Stormbringer class Fleet Tender is a warship.

It is a military ship and a Fleet Tender.
The vessel is a TL-10 design.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Stormbringer class Fleet Tenders serve with the navy of the Winston Democracy, a polity lying to rimward of the Solomani Confederation. They are the centerpieces of the state and feature heavily in propaganda. They are designed to be able to transport two complete system defense squadrons into troubled areas. Each carries two platoons of marines and their vehicles.

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. ^[1]

The hull is unstreamlined and cannot operate in anything denser than Trace atmospheres without risking catastrophic structural failure. The vessel is constructed around a long central spine. There are 38 airlocks located around the vessel. The cargo hold is accessed by large doors.
2.	Crew	x457 personnel, including 80 Marines. x38 Officers, plus 3 Marine Officers. x339 Enlisted. There are 228.5 staterooms. All quarters are double occupancy. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off. There are multiple emergency lockers.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Jump-1 drive, a Maneuver-6 drive, and a Power Plant-7, giving performance of Jump-1 and 6-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 4 and an emergency agility of 6. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for two consecutive Jump-1s and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. The engineering section has a main control room. Ladders, gantries and platforms give access to the machinery. The jump drive creates a jump bubble around the vessel. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is an efficient computer Model/4 fib: no backup computer is installed. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, an advanced sensor array, and an avionics suite. It is fitted with backup commo and sensor systems. It has a transponder unit that can be deactivaed on command.
5.	Hardpoints	x400 hardpoints. The listed battery groupings are standard configurations for the class. Alternative battery groupings may be designated for specific missions.
6.	Armament	The normal weapons fit-out for a Stormbringer class is: x10 50-Ton bays, mounting Heavy Plasma Guns. x10 100-Ton bays, mounting Particle Accelerators. x10 100-Ton bays, mounting Heavy Missile Launchers.
7.	Defenses	The hull is unarmored. The vessel is not fitted with screens or other passive defensive systems. x10 100-Ton bays, mounting Repulsors.
8.	Craft	Fighter Complement x20 80 Ton Fearless class Heavy Fighters, housed on dedicated docking points across the hull. Large Vessels x4 1,000 Ton Knuckle Head class Monitors, housed on dedicated docking points across the hull. x4 300 Ton Flare class Gunboats, housed on dedicated docking points across the hull. x4 100 Ton Scouts, housed on dedicated docking points across the hull. Vehicles x8 8-Ton G-Carriers. The G-Carrier hanger can be sealed and has a volume of 83.2 Tons. Drop Capsules There are eight Drop Capsule tubes and their associated loading equipment. There is dedicated holding space containing an additional 72 Drop Capsules.
9.	Fuel Treatment	The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 10,800 Tons. It is fitted with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in a few hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.
10.	Cost	The basic cost of the vessel is MCr34,991.596 Architects Fee: MCr349.916
11.	Construction Time	186 weeks (43 months) as standard. Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12.	Comments	Standard cargo capacity amounts to 103.5 Tons. The cargo hold can be sealed and has independent life support and environmental systems.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Stormbringer class Fleet Tenders are part of The Democratic People's Defense Forces, the military of the Winston Democracy. They are built with covert Solomani naval assistance and construction is overseen by Solomani technical advisers. The Solomani gain certain advantageous economic opportunities, diplomatic privileges and political favors in exchange. Several systems within the Winston Democracy are not advanced enough to support continuous naval activities and ships are moved into position only when needed.
