Uranion is a poor, high-population, non-agricultural world with a billion or more sophonts.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- This planet has few promising economic prospects. Some hope to start a nascent industrial sector, but it hasn't come to fruition yet.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Miruu Subsector of Verge Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Uranion is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x11 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Uranion is tidally locked to its primary star.
- It experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Uranion is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Uranion has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Uranion has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
- The dark side of the world is covered in an unstable crust of frost and fractured ice.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Uranion is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
There is an ongoing power struggle between the leaders of Uranion, Kizull, and Tournakh. This has resulted in an ongoing low level rebellion on Uranion, characterised by violent oppression rather than any real fighting. Since the Tyrant's paranoia and aggressive policing has been sweeping up off-worlders and treating them badly, the IISS has designated the world as an Amber Zone. The Sector Duke on Tripolis endorsed this action, hoping to keep the simmering trade war from spreading.
Ilelish Interstellar, the leading media corporation within Verge Sector, has offices and facilities on the world.
- It is known for its intrusive and sensationalist style of journalism.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Uranion has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world is host to an Imperial Scout Base.
The port used to be much better but has decayed from neglect and incompetence.
World Population (P)[edit]
Uranion has a population of 5,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Uranion possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Uranion is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. A continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and replaced by allies or protégés. The reasons for the change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
The world is ruled by The Tyrant.
World Law (L)[edit]
Uranion has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Uranion, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
Uranion serves to supply the nearby worlds of Tournakh and Kizull with some "advanced" TL 10 technology in return for agricultural goods. The Tyrant, the ruler of the world, directly controls the company undertaking importing food supplies into world.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: B (very extensive)
- Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: D (fragmented)
- Acceptance: A (very friendly)
- Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
- Symbols: E (extremely abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:

- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
