History & Background[edit]

On of the base rules during the SICP Design of the Architects from Ethlum Industrial Design was to create a cheap Pack without missing Quality. One of the methods to reach the goal, was to reuse old proved quality. To support a new colony with mining is inevitable which operates indepently for a medium duration of time, which fits to the Colony Ship. They took an old 100t Type S Scout, which proved its reliabilty a million times and modified it.

There are several Roles for the Ship:

  • Searching for life forms on target planet and catalogization
  • assistence to lab ship if needed in perspective of research
  • Scouting and intense catalogization of direct neighbours

Crew: 1 Pilot/Astrogator 1 Engineer 1 Researcher 1 Marine

The ship is clamped to the main Colony ship in a special mould for this ship.

At first they took an old cheap Patrol Cruiser and completly overhaul its engineering section.

Next they changed the following:

  • deconstruction of 1 state room and installation of Lab
  • armed with double Pulse Laser
  • upgrading drones to advanced drones
  • Upgrade military sensors with Life Scanner Suite
  • Installation of 3 dt Biosphere

these were very mild updates, but providing more intense Scouting activities and uprade to reasearch function.

The SICP ships and the whole SICP were sold by SWEPDOSA Colony Services Ltd, built by and on Ithaqua and Britten Yards and Enineering. Cost of the Overhaul and the update, is about 10 Millions, without the purchase of the ship itself. a new construction cost about 49 Million.

Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]

Normally these ships are named with names from famous known pioneer vids. For the SICP Proram, there were modified 25 ships, because there are not left with the colony.
