Saragon has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Theton Subsector of Vland Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This is a frozen world, with a climate of extremely low temperatures.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- It is a secondary world within the Argonos system
- It is the homeworld of an unnamed methane-breathing Minor Non-Human Race: they are unofficially referred to as the Saragon.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Saragon has a solitary primary star named Shosatha.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Argonos, a chilly, dense atmosphere water world designated as the mainworld and orbiting towards the outer edge of the habitable zone.
- Saragon, a large, very cold, insidious atmosphere fluid world orbiting within the outer system.
- Maratok, a trace atmosphere ice-capped world orbiting within the cold outer system.
- The Inner Belt, a sparse rocky planetoid belt lying within the cold outer system.
- A tiny vacuum worldlet orbiting within the deep outer system. It is designated alpha (α).
- A frigidly cold ice-capped vacuum world orbiting within the deep outer system. It is designated beta (β).
- The Outer Belt, a sparse icy planetoid belt marking the outer edge of the system.
- A chart depicting the Argonos system: Saragon is a secondary world within the system.
Secondary World Data[edit]
Saragon is a secondary world within the Argonos system. It orbits within the outer system, occupying the next orbit out from the mainworld.
Secondary World Size (S)[edit]
Saragon is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Secondary World Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Saragon has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The atmosphere is composed of nitrogen, methane, ammonia, and significant traces of other gases. The mean surface pressure is in excess of 4 atm.
- The mean surface temperature is around -70°C.
Secondary World Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Saragon has 25-35% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- This surface fluid is ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH, aqua ammonia), a mixture of water and ammonia. It has a freezing point of -91°C.

- Far more detailed maps are available locally.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Local Sophont[edit]
The world is home to an unnamed methane-breathing sophont Minor Race.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Saragon is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
The officially unnamed sophont species native to this world breathe its insidious nitrogen-methane atmosphere and find temperatures of around -70°C comfortable.
- They may be referred to as the Saragon.
- As a general rule they avoid any form of contact with "hotworlders".
World Spaceport (St)[edit]
Saragon does not have a spaceport. The Class Y Spaceport is an indication no port exists on this world. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)[edit]
Saragon has a population of 50,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
- The entire population are methane-breathing native sophonts.
Urbanization[edit]
Almost all of the population live in small isolated communities. There are four major urban centers, each centered on a great palace. Despite the immense effort put into their construction, the cities are only occupied for limited periods of the local year. Their local names are unknown and as such they are named descriptively
- Cliff City (population unknown), a vast complex of corridors and chambers built into the side of a sheer cliff.
- Lake Town (population unknown), a sprawling assortment of open compounds constructed in a wetland region.
- North Town (population unknown), clusters of domed structures in the foothills of a mountain range.
- South Town (population unknown), series of towers built around the shores of a long bay.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Saragon possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Saragon has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Saragon has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
The resident Imperial Noble Knight of Argonos, the mainworld of the system, has jurisdiction over the world.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -4 (very poor)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
- Symbols: B (very abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
