Qrannienzh is a nonindustrial fluid world.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Izrats Kriezhlas Unity in the Izh Kriezhlal Subsector of Yiklerzdanzh Sector.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Qrannienzh is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a white dwarf stellar remnant.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- An unknown number of secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Qrannienzh is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Qrannienzh has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Qrannienzh has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Satellites[edit]
Qrannienzh retains an arid moon.
- It orbits once every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Exotic aquatic native life occupying a wide range ecological niches. Its metabolic functions help drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Qrannienzh was one of the first settled worlds in the Unity, though why it was settled so early is now a mystery, as it has a dense irritant atmosphere and a massive ocean (consisting of an atmosphere-related chemical mix) covering 99% of the surface.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Qrannienzh has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Qrannienzh has a population of 700,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population almost entirely consists of Vlazhdumecta humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most widely spoken language is Vlazhdumecta.
Urbanization[edit]
Settled areas on a Vlazhdumecta world will feature Kishik ("Places of Contemplation"), used for quiet experience of the sublime. Most settlements have a variety of such places, whether constructed (the equivalent of Solomani churches and monasteries) or natural (e.g. preserved beauty spots).
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Qrannienzh possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Qrannienzh is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
World Law (L)[edit]
Qrannienzh has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Culture[edit]
Everyone wears protective clothing at all times, in case of an environment breach. The constant worries about breaches (though these are now actually quite rare) have led to numerous superstitions, such as breaches occurring more often at conjunctions. There is also a fear of being outside, so virtually all external operations are performed by remote controlled robots. As an added safety measure, everyone works as part of a team at all times.

World Culture[edit]
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
