Muruk has both an unbreathably thin atmosphere and a lack of surface water making habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. Government control of this world is by an external military force. This is a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Muruk, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Luuli Mi. 100% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Ziadd.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Muruk is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Muruk is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Muruk has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Muruk has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
A wholly Ziadd planet, all but 2,000 of the inhabitants live in towns on the banks of the 'Garden Lake', the only major body of water on Muruk's surface. This is situated in the lush, green plains that cover the northern hemisphere.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No information yet available.
History and Background[edit]
Although confined to its tech level under the "fair rule" of Dy'doria, Queen of the Green Lands, Empress of the Garden Lake and of the Dy'dorian Empire, a vast industrialization is taking place on Muruk. Limited by the thin atmosphere, steam power and internal combustion is very difficult to attain for the mass market. The local scientists are unconventional and explore every avenue of research, however outlandish it seem.
Most homes are electrified, powered by hydroelectric and efficient solar power. This was achieved by simple understanding of the principles and ignorance of the idea that a TL–4 world can not produce such things.
Dy'dorian scientists are currently working on a whole spectrum of technologies, from rocket engines to grav technology. Muruk engineering is simple, rugged, and enormous; overdesign is commonplace. Muruk is an open market for mid-tech level ideas, samples, and manuals.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Muruk has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Muruk has a population of 700,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium
- Klatha'sh: The dominant Ziadd language
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium
Urbanization[edit]
Ziadd structures tend to be solid and blocky and are usually heavily decorated. Many fly flags and banners declaring allegiance and status.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Muruk possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Muruk has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
This world is under military rule.
World Law (L)[edit]
Muruk has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
