Gzorraeth is a nonindustrial desert hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often develop intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Vargr sophonts located in the Khouth Subsector of Corridor Sector.
- It is a member of the Dzarrgh Run.
- In the initial surveys, this world was named Shadga Ishgaa.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Gzorraeth has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Gzorraeth is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Gzorraeth has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Gzorraeth has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Gzorraeth is a member of the Dzarrgh Run, a small but important Main crossing between Tuglikki, Provence, Deneb, and Corridor Sectors.
- High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move among its systems, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying on the Run are highlighted in tan.
The world is owned by Ulroudzoe Mining, a major corporation based within the Dzarrgh Federate. Ulroudzoe established Gzorraeth as its first extra-Federate mining operation. The world has become Ulroudzoe's chief supplier of radioactives.
Imperial authorities suspect Ulroudzoe of manufacturing fission warheads on Gzorraeth and selling them to corsairs. Although the claim has never been validated, many feel that destruction of the Ulroudzoe facilities on Gzorraeth would deal the illicit Vargr arms trade a major blow.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Gzorraeth has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.
World Population (P)[edit]
Gzorraeth has a population of 50,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
Vargr, population 95%
- Other, population 5%
World Government (G)[edit]
Gzorraeth is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
- The planet is governed by Ulroudzoe Mining.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Gzorraeth has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Gzorraeth possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -9235: The Vilani discover jump technology. A few explorers and settlers begin to pioneer the region.
- -4045 to -2204: The Ziru Sirka claims a few rimward worlds and establishes a firm border. The Windhorn Rift and the absence of any significant Mains discourages large-scale Vilani expansion into the region.
- -3810: The Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into human-dominated areas significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- ca -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: The Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: To rimward-trailing, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: The Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- early 400s: The Irrgh Manifest is founded.
- 869: The Glory of Taarskoerzn is founded. It splits the Irrgh Manifest.
- 995-1065: The Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: The Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
- 1090: The Dzarrgh Federate is formed.
History-Era: Rebellion[edit]
During the late stages of the Rebellion, a pre-emptive strike was enacted upon this facility by a squadron of close escorts hailing from the Deneb 61st Fleet. So effective was the strike that Vargr corsair activity was literally halved following the assault. Gzorraeth's economy and infrastructure were so devastated that the government collapsed and the world fell into turmoil.
History-Era: New Era[edit]
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When Virus-infected ships attacked the system, the defunct (not to mention decidedly low-tech) computer system could not be infected. Nevertheless, aerial bombardment of the planet by Vampire ships did result in the deaths of several thousand Vargr.
Since their near destruction at the hands of two enemies, the surviving population has gradually recovered. The world's B class starport is a rare commodity in the region, and both free traders and Vampire Fleets of various kinds patronize the starport for routine maintenance. The world has a large PAD network tipped with locally manufactured nuclear warheads, and this has prevented anyone from seizing the world for themselves. The surviving ranking Ulroudzoe official was also ordained in the Church of the Chosen Ones, but to his credit this has been used to unify the world under the benevolent rule of a secular dictator rather than the stifling liturgical governance that the Church has become infamous for. By his strict, principled example the world has known only wise and prudent leadership ever since his death.
