Dakiri is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

  • In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Rdrefrn-40 Subsector of Fulani Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Dakiri has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Dakiri is a satellite of a gas giant.

Gas Giant Moons 11d.jpg

The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • They lie within the zone's colder outer H- region.
  • They receive lower levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Dakiri is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

  • Tidal stresses generated by the world's gas giant primary world cause frequent seismic and geological activity.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Dakiri has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.

  • Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
  • Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
  • The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
  • The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Dakiri has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

  • Much of the surface is a frigid, hostile environment.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Dakiri is a mining outpost. While its economy is currently expanding, standards of living are at best average. Huge automated mines scar the vast regions of the surface.

  • The abundant resources of the system are being exploited.

A number of businesses, organizations, and private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
  • Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
  • A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • A number of vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

The majority of the population work within the resource extraction industry.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Dakiri has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Dakiri has a population of 10,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Urbanization[edit]

A few small urban areas each surrounded by satellite communities. Each community services one or more large mineral extraction sites.

  • Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
  • Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Dakiri possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Dakiri is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Military[edit]

Privately retained security personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Dakiri has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 1 (ordinary)

The world's economy is based around mineral extraction. Consumables and luxuries command premium prices.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: F (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 3 (thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
  • Efficiency: -2 (fair)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 5 (very aloof)
  • Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
  • Symbols: A (abstract)
