Mainworld Data[edit]

Jump breakout target for mainworld Bath requires respecting the 100 Diameters limit of its hosting Gas Giant. Typical in-system transit from 100D to Bath start at nine hours at 1G but rapidly drops off with more powerful accelerations. Both Gas Giants of Bath are relatively simple to skim for fuel, requiring less than a single G of acceleration from vessels descending to and from the H2 cloud deck.

The F1 main sequence stellar primary and M1 White Dwarf provide two, overlapping sunrises and sunset times and are only blocked by the occasional eclipsing Gas Giant to which Bath is a Satellite. These darker times are plotted on calendars and cause for bundling in extra clothing for days of frigid temperatures.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

At Size 4 with a diameter of roughly 6400 kilometers, Bath has taken steps to compensate for the lower gravity (0.5gs) with TL-11 innovations. Visiting Travellers can often see work crews lifting and replacing grav plates throughout inhabited cities. Many vehicles must obey speed limits and grid traffic regulation to maintain safety for ground commutes. Aerospace traffic is often occupied with gravcars and grav flyers, their task eased by the lower Size of Bath. Medical and physical therapy facilities often treat Vargr and Humaniti who have strayed too long off modified gravity grids. Spaceships and starships of 1G or better acceleration find Bath Size relatively easy to Boost to Orbit and often exceed System Traffic Control velocity regulations.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Bath has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

With an 80% coverage of oceans, seas, lakes and streams of all sizes, Bath features an aquaculture of colder species of marine life and fishing yields lend to the few consumable Resources Bath has to offer to the Solomani Preserve.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Sitting on the colder edge of the system Habitable Zone, Bath has a lower global temperature which has earned the Trade Classification of Cold (Co). While the climate is generally comfortable to the furred Vargr, many Humaniti don an extra layer of clothing before emerging out of doors even in equatorial regions. This has produced a disparity in fashions worn for while the Vargr wear less, often minimal in coverage in utilitarian, Humaniti compensates with more coverage and often makes use of advanced insulation materials. Bath continues to import lighter, more insulated fabrics for Humaniti as the local Vargr shrug in pity or indifference.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Bath has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

70 million Vargr and Humans currently live on Bath, a fraction of its former number before the devastation brought on by the Empress Wave. The Governor, Bath Senator and the Solomani Preserve continue to attract immigration from rimward subsectors, those who can swear oaths to the charter of the Solomani Preserve and live under its mandates. The population of Bath was much higher before the Wave and ruins of towns and cities are still being renovated and renewed as of 1105 for immigrants from off-world.

World Demographics[edit]

The population of Bath consists mainly of welcomed Gvegh Vargr and Akumgeda Vargr totaling 80% of the census. The remaining 20% comprise Humaniti.

World Government (G)[edit]

Bath is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

  • Governorship of Bath has long been by the vargr (or, rarely, human) who could demonstrate the highest Charisma, who would then serve for life (or, more often, until they grew tired of it, which reflected in their Charisma).
  • About half a century prior to 1105, this office changed hands when the Empress Wave came, the prior governor laying down his mind and life to get as many of his people as possible into low berths, saving them. When the world recovered, one of his lieutenants, a charismatic Gvegh Vargr female named Khoset Darrtha (pictured) rose to power, mainly by talking down and calming the remaining insane inhabitants in only 8 years instead of the expected 11. Widely hailed as a savior at first, she has been criticized for being the Preserve's puppet, though the complaints are mainly about her relationship with Bath's human Senator Keegan Albrecht that changes from panet to romantic and back seemingly at the drop of a hat. She is known to have still been in power as of 1136, as there is an archived news article about her inspecting the fortifications at Voidbridge 1.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

The Law Level on Bath lies significantly skewed toward favoring the Akumgeda and Gvegh Vargr. Personal, concealable weapons are forbidden leaving the Vargr with natural weaponry, Infighting martial arts and racial reflexes held over Humaniti unarmed martial arts. This has had mixed results when a Solomani attempts to engage Infighting with a Vargr, something the latter are learning to take seriously upon incidence.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Bath possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Military[edit]

While the Solomani Preserve is mainly overseen by Humaniti, the main fighting forces of Bath consist of Gvegh Vargr. Intelligence consists of Humaniti and a smattering of Akumgeda Vargr psions.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources 7 Few - Two Gas Giants and two planetoid belts yield more Resources than mainworld Bath, giving rise to a growing yet hindered prospecting and belting industry.
  • Labor 6 Millions - Poorly staffed industries rely heavily on automation provided by the Infrastructure; Bath seeks to increase its population and labor force.
  • Infrastructure C Very extensive - Compensating for an efficient labor force, the Solomani Preserve has bolstered the Infrastructure of Bath to ease labor tensions, meet unions demands and satisfy overall Vargr Charisma
  • Efficiency −2 Fair - The weakest link in Bath economy, the Governor and Bath Senator seek aid from the Solomani Preserve to further develop and streamline system industries to put this world back in the green.

Despite setbacks, Bath remains the second most Important {Ix} world in the Solomani Preserve, a fact that the local Gvegh and Akumgeda Vargr take pride in and repeatedly remind the Solomani Preserve of in the polity Senate.

Trade Data[edit]

Bath is the terminus of a Green-rated trade route between it and Havensmith. Belting the Bath planetoid belts has become the prospecting occupation for those local and immigrant Vargr who cannot bring themselves to live aside the minority of Humaniti. This in-system segregation has not helped Bath Efficiency and the Governor struggles to streamline all aspects of the industry.

Urbanization[edit]

World Infrastructure[edit]

With a Very Extensive (C) Infrastructure, almost all citizens of Bath are capable of utilizing public transport. At Tech Level B (TL-11), a planetary and indeed system network is in place facilitating communications and online trading.

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity A Discordant - As with any typical Vargr majority world, Vargr Charisma and Pack dynamics are the norm while local Humaniti struggles to understand and emulate its own Charisma and ease racial tensions
  • Acceptance B Extremely friendly - All on Bath are seeking new immigration to bolster the population to a maximum allowable by the Rich (Ri) and Agricultural (Ag) Trade Classifications
  • Strangeness 6 Very distinct - Visitors can expect very distinct blends of Gvegh and Akumgeda dialects, the two Vargr languages slowly being reintegrated while both borrow an occasional word from Anglic
  • Symbols 9 Somewhat abstract - Travellers to Bath must often conform to Vargr symbols, signs and posted notifications, often mainly in Gvegh language but supplemented by Anglic and Vilani then Akumgeda
