Description (Specifications)

  • Capital: 1437 Gzugo A130535-C
  • Naval Bases: 3 VR05
  • Corsair Bases: 7, 1 Privateer

Ruled from the subsector capital of Gzugo, Okhuemgir Subsector is dominated economically by Sudhaenga and remote but just as Important {Ix} Aengllog (Gzaekfueg 1538) and 1234). A dance between subsector government and mercantile funding is an ambient, low growl in this region of space as the Cyan trade route continues rimward into Meshan Sector.

It is unclear if Aengllog was circumvented on political maneuvers or corporate decision-making as to why the Cyan trade route detours trailing into Ungludh before arcing back to rimward Okhuemgir. This has the Balkanized Factions of Aengllog scratching their lupine heads and questioning the value of their exports. Could the location along the shores of the Windhorn Rift be a factor?

Vuzzoz’ Bloodletters are a subsector-wide Corsair band in Okhuemgir Subsector of Gzaekfueg Sector and controls or uses seven Corsair Bases therein. Countered by only three Naval Bases, smuggling and outright piracy upon the Cyan trade route that detours into Ungludh Subsector is almost unchecked. This band of Corsairs uses pack tactics to herd a merchant vessel or convoy toward an ambush of more Corsair starships or local spacecraft. Any merchantman that falls behind is assuredly singled out for an attack by spaceship weapons and boarding. The Bloodletters are known for very dangerous piloting, coming within point-blank range of their prey.

Spoils of a successful raid or space piracy are divided among the participating vessels, even to the contracting of a salvage vessel that will often dismantle a captured ship for its expensive systems. Such assets are then peddled in pirate coves at worlds with Corsair Bases as the predatory vessels go to ground in preparation for the next attack or raid.

Crews captured by the Vuzzoz’ Bloodletters are often deposited on Duvarroez (Gzaekfueg 1433) if they are Urzaeng. Other sub-species can alternately be sold as slaves to worlds outside the Ruler of Five confederation, such as Gzaedhkirrg (Gzaekfueg 1131). Most prisoners try to pay the Corsairs an equal or greater sum for the amount that enslaving them would earn in exchange for release on Duvarroez.

Vuzzoz Bloodletters see themselves as pruning the interstellar market, gently tapping convoys rather than blockading traffic entirely. Their leader, a callous and impatient female Urzaeng known only as Vuzzoz-edh <daughter of Vuzzoz> gathers her forces of less than ten starships and between fifteen and twenty in-system spaceships, (often rentals), to swarm a convoy at 100 Diameter breakout points.

Okhuemgir, subsector N of Gzaekfueg, contains 18 worlds with an estimated combined population of 34 billion, a per capita income of Cr7,748, and a total economy of BCr265,084. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr19 through 15 starports (2 Class A, 2 Class B, 9 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 2,410 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, two Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, no Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, no Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Okhuemgir maintain eight Corsair bases and three Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 10). The highest technology level is 13 at Sudhaenga (Gzaekfueg 1538).

Okhuemgir, subsector N of Gzaekfueg, contains 27 stars and an as yet unidentified number of planets; nine monostellar systems, nine binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 16 of the 18 systems (88%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, three Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and two Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Okhuemgir has an estimated population of 34 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, three Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Aengllog (Gzaekfueg 1234). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.
