They are fitted with drop tanks for an extra two jumps and 28 more days of power plant fuel. They are designed with several redundant systems, and carry factor 2 armor which allows them to absorb considerable punishment. They are fitted with fuel scoops and have fuel purification for ocean refueling. They are armed with two repulsor bays, twenty heavy missile bays, two particle accelerator bays, seventy triple sand caster batteries, twenty dual plasma guns, and seventy triple pulse laser turrets. They carry a regiment of 1,501 marines with drop capsules. History & Background (Dossier)

Designed and built at the Ik'sath (world) shipyards, these transports are considered somewhat obsolete by the Sath Alliance Military Forces. As the factions have fought and bickered several of these ships were recommissioned from moth balls and have found their way into The Khas'ahi Faction, within the Sha’a Cluster, and the Shikh’aa Faction in the K’shek cluster. These ships operate within the Far Home Sector.

Distant Fringe Vessels

The Distant Fringe is said to be a far spinward-rimward area inhabited by colonists and refugees originating on Terra. The region is extremely isolated, separated from the rest of Charted Space by vast, almost uncrossable rifts that were once broached by a system of calibration Points and the use of tankers. Those few academics within Charted Space who have found references to the Distant Fringe regard it as little more than a tall tale. Likewise, many of the inhabitants of the Distant Fringe believe the existence of Charted Space to be mythical.[3]

Vessels originating within the Distant Fringe are very rarely encountered outside of the region. However, misjumps do occur and anomalies with bizarre spacetime and Jumpspace effects exist: as such, craft of this type are not entirely unknown within Charted Space.[4]
