Zydar is a high-population, pre-rich world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It lacks adequate resources to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- It is a member of the Zydarian Codominium in the Zydar Subsector of Beyond Sector.
- Located in Zydar Subsector, which is subsector I of the The Beyond Sector.
- It is the capital of the Zydarian Codominium
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
This is a large planet with a standard oxygen/nitrogen atmosphere and a 60% hydrosphere, located in the habitable zone of a yellow-white main sequence star. There are high capacity TL–A naval shipyards. The Zydar Class Light Cruisers and Legion Class Picket Boats are manufactured here. There is a Naval Base and a Scout Base located in this system.
Ruled by a religious dictatorship confident in the righteous nature of their decrees, the input of the masses is not a credible source of power in this society. The crusade of faith to address the universe on their terms is responsible for the fanatical loyalty and zealot level morale. Unfortunately, military commanders are often selected for their religious zeal and not always for their tactical genius.
It has been questioned if the amber travel advisory applies because of the aggressive and intolerant religious climate, the abundance of "privateers", the Star Legion Fleets and military units, OR a combination of all of the above.
Zydar has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Zydar has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
No information yet available.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
Zydar experiences temperate conditions over a large portion of two of its three large continental landmasses. The third continent, Hyborea, covers the northern polar regions and is cold and arid across much of its interior.

Native Lifeforms
Native life was not well advanced prior to colonization. Invasive species have overtaken local organisms in many of the ecological niches on land.
History & Background (Dossier)
Zydar is the subsector capital and the capital of the Zydarian Codominium. It serves as fleet headquarters for the Zydarian Codominium Star Legion. Too small to directly challenge the Corellan League from which it withdrew, it is nevertheless known to be a haven for criminals, malcontents, rebels, and pirates.
Zydar's military reserves can make up in numbers what they lack in technological sophistication. This has been sufficient to allow this high population world to dominate its low population neighbors. Since the failed uprisings and the rival rebellious sects have all been dismantled, the population has been disarmed "for their own protection". Arms smuggling or black market weapons sales to civilians carry the heaviest penalties -- summary execution, without trial.
World Starport (Sp)
Zydar has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)
Zydar has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.

World Government (G)
Zydar is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.
Duality Prophet Zydar is said to still be alive, but hasn't been seen in public since 1065. Zydar's Disciples rule a bureaucratic state that organizes tithes and controls most aspects of daily life. The Codominium is a 10% shareholder or "tithe holder" of all enterprises, and is guaranteed a seat on every corporate board.
World Military
The government is generous with the distribution of letters of marquee; so long as they get their cut, loosely affiliated "naval auxiliaries" are permitted to operate as privateers. If these auxiliaries turn to bite the hand that feeds them, the full force of the Star Legion will be swiftly loosed upon them.
World Law (L)
Zydar has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Technology Level (TL)
Zydar possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Economy
Although outside observers are often surprised by this, the economy functions well. The technological level of the world, which lagged seriously during the World Wars, is beginning to catch up to Corellan League levels, with Zydar producing its own fleet of starships.
Trade Data
The Gateway Consortium, a major commercial power within the Corellan League, maintains its own diplomatic staff and consular office on Zydar.
World Infrastructure
This world possesses TBD infrastructure.
World Culture
The people of Zydar spend one day of six in worship and one in rest, and labour the other four days of the local week, often for 14 hours of the world's 28 hour days.
Historical Data
Following the social reorganization of the Great Realignment, the Duality Prophet Zydar spread his rule to neighbouring systems. The outpost of Oquir -- renamed Zydoquir -- was claimed by 936. Oquir had been under control of the former Tirostian nation of Kanbarre, and for the next few decades was Zydar's only claim to interstellar statehood. The establishment of the Star Legion of the Codominium in 962 was followed by its occupation and conversion of nearby Danaria (quickly renamed [[Zydanar (world)|Zydanar) -- and Exanos (renamed Zydexnar).
The Corellan League from which Zydar had withdrawn reacted poorly to these occupations, but war was averted after Zydar declared his expansion to be complete. In 964 he signed the Treaty of Nestor, guaranteeing the independence of that system, which remains the main trade conduit to the League.
