The Midway class Heavy Carrier is a warship.
- It is a military ship and a Heavy Carrier.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
It is a vessel with 4-G and J-4 performance with a partially streamlined close structure hull. Designed to serve as the flagship for a large fleet it mounted a full flag bridge with redundant ship computer. The fleet admiral and their flag staff can focus on command and control of various fleet assets while the captain fights their ship.
- It carries light armament and a powerful defensive suite. It lacked the armor to stand toe to toe with ships of the line at this tech level. The design featured a heavy sand caster load out to discourage attacks from shoals of missiles and to absorb laser attacks. Otherwise the offensive weapon suite resembled a Battle Cruiser.
- It ordinarily carries a large number of subcraft, ship's vehicles, and drones when needed. It carried two 50 ton capacity launch tubes to facilitate rapid launch and recovery of the fifty eight fighter squadrons. It carried a battalion of marines with orbital assault capsules, and a battalion of Grav APCs.
- It has a 4,396 sophont crew and 484 marines.
