Urgu is a large water world with very deep oceans and less than 1% of its land above sea level. The atmosphere is comfortably breathable. The system has a population between 1 and 10 billion sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Urgu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a count. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. Less than 10% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Ziadd.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

Urgu is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Urgu is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Urgu has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Urgu has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.

History and Background[edit]

Urgu is ruled by the Ziadd Dominican, Bhad Moq. The extremes of control imposed by his religious correction squads (the RCS) have led to this world being rated an Amber Zone. Over a billion people live on the archipelagos and floating cities of this thickly vegetated waterworld. The dense heavy atmosphere is constantly cloudy with huge fogs and considerable rainfall almost every day.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Urgu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate and fiefdom of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Urgu has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Urgu has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Demographics[edit]

World Government (G)[edit]

Urgu is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Urgu has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). All aspects of life rigidly controlled with disproportionate punishments for even minor legal infractions. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Urgu possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Culture[edit]

Outsiders are allowed on-world, but the populace regards them as inferiors. There are many laws to reinforce this attitude. Visitors to Urgu will find the authorities very unhelpful with no warnings of the hazards. All visitors are advised to purchase guides containing the details of the laws and severity of the punishments.

Examples of the different customs include the following:

  • Food preparation for outsiders must be done separately, as cross-contamination is considered sacrilege.
  • Outsiders may not spend the night under the same roof as an Urguan.
  • Requests for privacy are regarded as impolite or heretical.
  • Gift-giving is considered a form of heretical bribery, thus all interactions must be some form of exchange.

Failure to follow rules and regulations lead to heavy fines and months or years of ritual purification in an RCS correction center.
