Siev is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial garden world.
- Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
- It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Izrats Kriezhlas Unity in the Bilahew Subsector of Fulani Sector.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This world contains an archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.
- This world has an Interface Base, with similarities to a Scout Base, but also functioning as a Trade Base and Customs Facility.
- It is a member of the Fulani Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Siev is a binary star system.
- Both are yellow main sequence stars.
- Each star retains its own system of worlds.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Siev is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
- Tidal stresses generated by the world's close moon cause frequent seismic and geological activity.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Siev has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Siev has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites[edit]
Siev retains a close, large, thin atmosphere moon.
- The world orbits every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Siev is relatively quiet, with a weak economy and poor standards of living.
- It is a member world of the Izrats Kriezhlas Unity.
- The resources of the system are largely untapped.
A few private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is sporadic: ships occasionally visit.
- Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Zdetl.
- A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
- A vessel or two may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
- Exploratory or survey vessels may be active in the system.
Siev is believed to be the original homeworld of the Jaibok, before they were uplifted by the Ancients and transplanted to Vech, in Mavuzog Sector.
- Many native lifeforms share close physical, internal, and biochemical similarities to Jaibok.
- Despite its apparent huge historical significance, Siev has never been officially studied or documented.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Siev has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world is host to an Exploration Base
World Population (P)[edit]
Siev has a population of 20,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population entirely consists of Vlazhdumecta humans.
Urbanization[edit]
A few small urban areas each surrounded by satellite communities.
- The population inhabit a single relatively large region.
- Almost all of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.
Settled areas on a Vlazhdumecta world will feature Kishik ("Places of Contemplation"), used for quiet experience of the sublime. Most settlements have a variety of such places, whether constructed (the equivalent of Solomani churches and monasteries) or natural (e.g. preserved beauty spots).
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Siev possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Siev is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 100 personnel.
World Law (L)[edit]
Siev has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 5 (scarce)
- Labor: 3 (thousands)
- Infrastructure: 3 (very limited)
- Efficiency: -1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 3 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 2 (very xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: A (abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
- ca -250,000: The primitive ancestors of the Jaibok are believed to have been uplifted by the Ancients.
- 300-420: The First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: The Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: The Second Survey is published.
