History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
As power shifted to Gram (Spinward Marches 1223), this organization lost some of its prestige. It has suffered defeats against Imperial fleets. Sacnoth (Spinward Marches 1325) had more advanced technology allowing for some major combatants to be constructed. Unlike the Gram Fleet, instead of fleet tenders and battle riders, the squadrons within this fleet have been characterized by a large number of slow, heavily armored battleships and dreadnoughts for the line of battle, renowned for their ability to absorb punishment and keep fighting. The 214th Fleet attacked and destroyed most of the Sacnoth fleet in a pitched battle at Sting (Spinward Marches 1525) on 016-1110.
Tables of Organization (Organizational Structure)[edit]
At its height, under Fleet Admiral Reinhart Franz, the fleet consisted of 6 Battle Squadrons and 2 Cruiser Squadrons with:
- x6 Grendal class Dreadnoughts
- x16 Furious Anger class Battleships
- x5 Righteous Might class Battle Cruisers
- x11 Berserker class Light Cruisers
- x61 Rhinegold class Destroyers
One tanker squadron and one divisional assault squadron with other scout, courier, support and logistical elements were added as needed. They typically didn't stay with the battle fleet for long between scheduled resupply runs.
