Karak is a poor, low-population desert hellworld, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Living on a hellworld is a constant struggle. Nearly every day and sometimes even hourly, the inhabitants of this world face life-threatening challenges.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- It is a member of the Regency of Muirimi in the Riter Subsector of Iphigenaia Sector.

Karak has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits just inside the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Karak is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Karak has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Karak has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Karak retains a small vacuum moon.

Karak is a huge construction site, with excavated foundations, in-frame structure, and stockpiled supplies.
- It is a member world of the Regency of Muirimi.
- It has been settled for centuries.
- The resources of the system are being explored.
The population are culturally Muirimi.
- The inhabitants can trace their origins back to the central Asian and Indian subcontinent regions of Terra.
- The majority are followers of Sitaraism, a form of star-worship.
A number of private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
- Commo picks up occasional signals and private chatter. Communications are in Naiurdu and Riftian Anglic.
- A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
- A vessel or two may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
The world formed part of an ancient Muirimi state called the Pietten Confederation.
- The Confederation practiced a harsh form of Sitaraism that placed many restrictions on its followers.
- The polity was considered belligerent and frequently had disputes with its neighbours, particularly the Republic of Georgia.
- Despite fervent internal protest, the Confederation and its member worlds chose to join the Regency upon its formation.

World Starport (St)[edit]
Karak has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The orbital and surface port facilities are still under construction.
- The majority of the facilities, though in place, are not yet fully tested and ready for use.

Urbanization[edit]
A single central facility with a few outlying structures and compounds.
- Almost all of the surface of the world is wilderness.
Large-scale construction is underway. Accommodation and infrastructure sufficient to support thousands is being built.
- Much of the construction is being undertaken by huge industrial robots.

Karak possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

Karak has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law (L)[edit]
Karak has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
