Garavado is a poor, barren hellworld, which would challenge the survival of nearly any sophont in Charted Space if it weren't already barren.
- As a barren world, it has no overt population, government, or law level.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world could probably be populated by very determined colonists if any had an inclination to do so...
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Fundibul Subsector of Astron Sector.
- It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This is a frozen world, with a climate of extremely low temperatures.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Garavado is a binary star system.
- The primary and the secondary are both red main sequence stars.
- The tertiary and the quaternary are both brown dwarf substellar objects.
- They form two separate systems, lying around 0.68 light-years apart.
Garavado has four stars in the star system. Garavado

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Garavado is a satellite of a gas giant.
The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit the primary star, within its outer system.
- They receive very low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Garavado is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
- Tidal stresses generated by the worlds gas giant primary world cause frequent seismic and geological activity.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Garavado has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
- Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
- Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
- The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
- The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Garavado has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
- The world experiences low temperatures.
- Much of the surface is covered in glaciers, ice, frost, and snow.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Garavado is a frontier, a wild and lonely place that rarely sees visitors. Many of the planets and moons within the system have never been visited by an intelligent being.
- Information about the system is limited.
- The resources of the system are largely untapped.
The system is unpopulated.
- Commercial traffic is extremely rare: the system sees very few visiting ships.
- Commo only picks up natural background noise and static.
- There are no active navigation beacons.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Garavado does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Garavado is unpopulated.
Urbanization[edit]
None.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Garavado possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Garavado has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Military[edit]
None.
World Law (L)[edit]
Garavado has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 0 (unpopulated)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 0 (none)
- Acceptance: 0 (none)
- Strangeness: 0 (none)
- Symbols: 0 (none)
