The Caliphate class Scout is a TL–10 recon Scout Vessel.
Description[edit]
It is a vessel with 3-G and J-1 performance. The partially streamlined spherical configuration is armored and is capable of gas giant refueling. The hull is a strange combination of Lead, Iron, and Cobalt and it is fitted with fuel scoops and a purification refinery. They are a spherical hulled vessel for short-range patrols in the Caliphate. These starships have enough fuel for two jumps without refueling. They are equipped with an auxiliary control with a back up Model/4 fib ship computer, in case the main bridge is destroyed. Scorned as poorly armed by some safety conscious scouts, they are nonetheless sturdy workhorses of the Caliphate fleet.
- They are armed with four single pulse laser turrets.
- They carry a streamlined 20 ton launch.
- There is a crew of eight, which include: pilot, navigator, 3 engineers, gunner, medic and flight crew.
History & Background[edit]
Caliphate class scouts are based upon a design first developed by the Caliphate of Estalia on Whitman (Holowon 0423 A2737D3-A). There are currently 74 of these scouts in service.
