Breakers Bleak is a low-population oceanic water world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- It is covered with very deep oceans with less than 1% of its land above sea level.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 1% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Uahtoealre Subsector of Khaeaw Sector.
- It is a chilly tundra world, with a climate of low temperatures.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Breakers Bleak is a binary star system.
- The primary is a blue-white main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Breakers Bleak orbits towards the outer edge of the primary star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Breakers Bleak is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Breakers Bleak has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- The world experiences low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Breakers Bleak has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
- The vast oceans are storm-wracked and turbulent.
- Much of the ocean surface is covered by pack ice and icebergs.
Satellites:[edit]
Breakers Bleak retains a relatively large, fairly close vacuum moon.
- It orbits once every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant aquatic native life occupying many ecological niches. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Most native life lives at deep levels within the ocean.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Breakers Bleak is a backwater outpost with very little development.
- The resources of the mainworld are being exploited.
The world has been designated as an Amber Zone.
There is limited activity within the system.
- Commercial traffic is very infrequent: ships rarely visit.
- Commo picks up occasional signals from imported communications devices. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
- A single commercial navigation beacon may be active.
- Vessels are unlikely be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Breakers Bleak has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Breakers Bleak has a population of 5000 humans.
Urbanization[edit]
A few small urban areas, located on islands, each surrounded by satellite communities.
- The population inhabit a single long archipelago.
- Most of the surface of the world remains as ocean wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Breakers Bleak possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World Government (G)[edit]
Breakers Bleak is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.
World Military[edit]
Privately retained security personnel.
World Law (L)[edit]
Breakers Bleak has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
