The Trace is a minor trade route. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move among its member worlds carrying an eclectic variety of goods and commodities.

Boa was the first world to be settled in the Trace during the Imperial era and as such lent the region its name. Hypaethral, a substantially more important member but settled a few years later, has long attempted to have the name of the Trace changed to Hypaethral Cluster, though so far with little success. Referring to the region as a "Cluster" rather than a "Trace" would certainly give it more gravitas, but Hypaethral just doesn't roll off the tongue in the same way that Boa does.

Local Rivalries[edit]

Fierce rivalry exists with the nearby Libuka Trace. Centuries ago, during the Imperial Civil Wars, local nobles from both Traces found themselves on opposite sides. The situation went from heated arguments in the Ducal Court on Libuka to open conflict between member worlds of the two regions. Although the situation ended in a stalemate, atrocities were committed on both sides and it has left lasting enmity. In more modern times this feuding exhibits itself as an intense sporting rivalry, especially within the local Null-G Kabbadi leagues.
