Strand is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This world contains an archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Strand Subsector of Corridor Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.

TAS Travelogue
Strand's (A545654-C) most noteworthy feature is a 15km high spire of unknown material, surrounded by a wide zone of crustal disruption. Blocks of soil and bedrock, picked up and tumbled at random, to a radius of nearly 20km, leaving no flat ground to speak of. Difficult to traverse on foot, and impossible in a ground vehicle.
The spire has no obvious purpose, and no working elements, though there is a small accessible space at ground level. Tourist access is relatively open as a result, and is typically in one of two categories: Guided aerial tours which generally focus on the spire, and walking/hiking/extreme climbing expeditions into the disrupted zone.
