Megoreshe is a low-population hellworld with a population less than 10,000 sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment .
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Idella Subsector of Fulani Sector.
- This is a frozen world, with a climate of extremely low temperatures.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Megorishe has a solitary primary star.
- It is a swollen orange giant named Kalubus.
Megoreshe has a solitary primary star. It produces high levels of EM noise.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data
The mainworld orbits within the far outer system.
- It receives very low levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the giant stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)
Megoreshe is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Megoreshe has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The world experiences very low temperatures.
- It has an extremely hostile surface environment.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Megoreshe has no free-standing fluids on the surface. What little surface fluid exists consists of exotic substances that are corrosive and highly toxic. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds.
Satellites:
The world does not retain any natural satellites.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, exotic world.)
Native Lifeforms
Exotic native life occupying a few specialist ecological niches. Its metabolic functions help drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)
Megoreshe is a backwater outpost with little development. Some of the planets and moons within it have never had an intelligent being visit them.
- The limited resources of the system are being exploited.
There is little activity within the system.
- Commercial traffic is very infrequent: ships rarely visit.
- Commo picks up occasional signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
- The star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
- One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
- A vessel or two may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Microscopic subsurface organisms native to the world produce exotic compounds that command high prices.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)
Megoreshe has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)
Megoreshe has a population of 90 sophonts (tens).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
Urbanization
A single central facility, located adjacent to the starport, with a few outlying structures and compounds.
- Various resource harvesting sites with autonomous robot extractors doing the work are dotted across the surface.
- Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
- Almost all of the surface of the world is wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)
Megoreshe possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)
Megoreshe is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Military
Privately retained security personnel.
World Law (L)
Megoreshe has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy
- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 0 (none)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: +2 (good)
Trade Data
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
The world's only major export product is exotic compounds, created by primitive subsoil microorganisms.
World Culture
- Homogeneity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
- Symbols: G (extremely abstract)
World Timeline
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
