Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The TC02 Grave Endeavor class Dropship is a specialized warship.
- It is a military ship and a Troop Transport.
Description (Specifications)
The TC02 Grave Endeavor class Dropship is an "express elevator to hell" as one unknown marine once famously quipped. They are deployed aboard vessels from the Trooles Confederation. Examples of the class can be encountered throughout the coreward parts of Theta Borealis Sector. The vessel has a fully streamlined needle/wedge configuration structure hull. It is fitted with fuel scoops and allowing it to perform wilderness ocean refueling.

Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background (Dossier)
The TC02 Grave Endeavor class Dropship class is used by the Trooles Confederation. These are fully streamlined dual environment vehicles. Lifting, variable geometry wings and heavy grav modules make them very maneuverable and they are legendary for their ability to "drop in on a small denomination metal coin." The bridge can not support a fiber optical back up system and larger computers were rejected because of the power drain, which this reactor could not sustain. Fire control is adequate for ground support roles, but this craft is not expected to engage enemy fleet combatants. The size of the marine squad deployed varies from vessel to vessel. Larger ships typically carry this design's bigger brother the 40 dton TC04 Valkyrie class Dropship. Power restrictions also lead to the cancellation of a pulse laser installation project. The 3-G acceleration and agility is considered just enough to get in and get out of hot LZs on contested border worlds without losing room for marines in the troop bay. The armored hull variant, popular with marine brass, was rejected for that reason as well. It would have curtailed speed and lowered the troop capacity.
