Tlazolteotl is a poor, industrial, high-population desert hellworld, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in a inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Dpres Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- This world has also been known as Burgundy.

Mainworld Data[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Tlazolteotl is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Tlazolteotl has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Tlazolteotl has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
This world was once verdant, but experienced widespread ecological collapse following a massive solar flare.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Tlazolteotl is a non-aligned major exporter of low-technology industrial goods to all the worlds of the Sindalian Main.
This world, originally named Burgundy, was colonized during the Rule of Man by Terrans from various European and Asian countries, second-generation worlds like Mars or the Centauri colonies, and a few special-interest groups -- including a few dozen settlers originally from Central America, devotees of the vanished Aztec culture.
- They intended to build a community modeled on the Aztecs in the jungles of Burgundy and vanished into the thickly forested wilderness of the western continent.
Burgundy was part of the Sindalian Empire until its fall.
- Around -400 the planet was wracked by a nuclear war coupled with the Burgundy star entering a flare period that scrambled computer systems and caused massive desertification. The planet collapsed into anarchy. In the aftermath the descendants of the neo-Aztecs, adept at using low-technology weapons, were able to pacify the war-torn world within a generation, renaming the planet Tlazolteotl.
Today, Tlazolteotl is Aztec-inspired culture and art is everywhere. Human sacrifice is practiced extensively and the government is in the hands of the priest caste.
- Visitors to Tlazolteotl are advised to land only at the starport/temple for their own safety.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Tlazolteotl has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
4 billion
World Language/s[edit]
World Government (G)[edit]
Tlazolteotl is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Tlazolteotl has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Tlazolteotl possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
