Shiiki is a poor, high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- This world is always on the edge of revolution as the common citizen struggles under extremely low wages. Much dissent is present.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Laeth Subsector of Gushemege Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- It is the homeworld of the Hamadur people.
- Shiiki is located on the Vilani Main.. It is part of the Sidurii Cluster region.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Shiiki has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Shiiki is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Shiiki has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Shiiki has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Shiiki was the original homeworld of the Hamadur people -- a mixture of Solomani and Vilani with their own distinct culture.
Shiiki was settled by Vilani colonists around -4500, who founded the first cities and began large-scale agriculture despite the world's relatively harsh conditions. They developed a reputation as dour pragmatists who had their own ways of doing things and were less than welcoming to outsiders. Waves of Solomani settled the world from around -2100 onwards, and despite initial hostility from the entrenched Vilani their cultures gradually merged, becoming the distinctive Hamadur.
The growing population on Shiiki caused shortages of essentials such as food and water and severely stressed the worlds infrastructure, a situation exacerbated by the slow collapse of the Ramshackle Empire around them and the resulting decline of interstellar trade. Following years of hardship, huge numbers of Hamadur people chose to migrate to spinward, utilizing any ships they could acquire. Their route in their overloaded vessels took them along the Vilani Main, through Vland Sector and across the Vargr-infested wastes of Corridor Sector, and into the empty wildernesses Behind the Claw.
This route to spinward wasn't unknown -- explorers had previously crossed this vast region and reported their findings and a few pioneers had even colonized places as far away as Theta Borealis Sector -- indeed, later migrants looking for new worlds would follow the same path. One of the largest concentrations of Hamadur people was within the Mnemosyne region of Far Frontiers Sector. This area became the focus of further waves of Hamadur, who continued to arrive between -1800 and around -1500, when the deepening Long Night and the increasing scarcity of vessels effectively stopped immigration and the Mnemosyne settlements began to develop independently.

World Starport (St)[edit]
Shiiki has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shiiki has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population are almost entirely Hamadur.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Anglic, one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
- Local Hamadur languages.
- Vilani, one of the two principal languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Shiiki possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.

World Government (G)[edit]
Shiiki is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shiiki has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
