System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Shadrai orbits towards the outer edge of its star's habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Shadrai is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Shadrai has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Shadrai has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

  • The world's oceans are littered with icebergs and pack ice.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Shadrai is unusual amongst Trelyn Domain worlds in having a majority Vlazhdumecta population.

To comply with the terms of its Imperial charter, the Allarton Corporation, the Imperial corporation underpinning the Trelyn Domain, is limited to operations exclusively within the Trelyn Subsector of Vanguard Reaches Sector. Allarton officials and representatives may occasionally conduct business on other worlds of the Domain.

Both subsidiary companies may be active on worlds far beyond their official operating areas.

The system's giant primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Shadrai has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Shadrai has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

Urbanization[edit]

Settled areas on a Vlazhdumecta world will feature Kishik ("Places of Contemplation"), used for quiet experience of the sublime. Most settlements have a variety of such places, whether constructed (the equivalent of Solomani churches and monasteries) or natural (e.g. preserved beauty spots).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Shadrai possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Shadrai is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Law (L)[edit]

Shadrai has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 3 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: B (abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: D (comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)

World Culture[edit]

The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.

  • Heterogenity: B (discordant)
  • Acceptance: C (xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
  • Symbols: C (very abstract)
