Pijo is a pre-agricultural world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Regulus Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Pijo is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Pijo has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Pijo has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Pijo is noted for a rich ecosphere.
Many native and imported animals are allowed to wander the streets of urban areas provided that they cause no trouble.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Pijo is a growing world located in Regulus Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector.
The name of the system is derived from the Spanish word Pijo which means "posh" or "high class", but also has the negative implication of "snobby".
Pijo is home to Solomani descended from European settles from Terra and a significant minority of Uplifted Apes (roughly 30% of the population).
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Pijo has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The starport is heavily guarded by armed and armoured police officers, most Human with a smattering of Gorillas. Both highport and downport are modern, well-appointed facilities. There are dozens of docking bays at the latter for starships of up to 1,000 tons.
World Population (P)[edit]
Pijo has a population of 100,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
- Around 70% of the population (roughly 70 million individuals) consists of Solomani humans.
- About 30% of the population (approximately 30 million individuals) consists of Uplifted Apes.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Great Ape Language (GAL), a language containing elements of Anglic spoken within Uplifted Ape communities.
- Each world where it is spoken has its own unique dialect.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
Urbanization[edit]
The capital city is Manjou Talioko, which has over 10 million inhabitants. The city is situated along the banks of the Aliababatto, the world's longest, most extensive river system. Canals draw water from the Aliababatto to nourish the city's extensive agricultural sector.
- Over the centuries, the city's Human inhabitants have moved inland along the canals while Ape society remains nestled close to the riverbanks.
World Government[edit]
Pijo is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
- Pijo is still ruled by a monarchy established in the Long Night, even after the rise of the Solomani Movement.
World Military[edit]
The Pijo Home Guard is notable for including mixed Human/Ape company-sized formations where the Apes can become officers. Uniquely in the Solomani Sphere, Apes may be seen giving orders to pure Solomani. The monarchy is protected by an elite Lifeguard regiment comprised entirely of Uplifted Apes.
These Home Guard regiments are occasionally employed by the Confederation Army for tasks not fitting for an entire battalion.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Pijo has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Pijo possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.

World Culture[edit]
Pijo has a large population of Uplifted Apes and almost every well-to-do Solomani family on Pijo employs one as a groundskeeper, laborer, or servant. These Apes are also recruited into the Home Guard and the Confederation Army where they can achieve non-commissioned and commissioned officer status.
Dolphin activists from Darina and Vogar have been agitating to convince Pijo's Apes to be more assertive in ensuring their overall social status relative to Humans.
Historical Data[edit]
Pijo was settled during the Rule of Man after the end of the Ninth Interstellar War by colonists from the European region of Terra. During the Long Night a monarchy was established that continues to exist today. In 1104 the last King of Pijo passed without an adult successor.
