The Parthenopinnace Fuel Shuttle is a TL–13 civilian fuel shuttle spacecraft made to partner with the Parthenolab class Bio-Construction Vessel.
Description[edit]
The Lavalier class Laboratory Ship is by no means a streamlined hull. It is ungainly and awkward to pilot in an a atmosphere. It relies on a pinnace to interface with worlds - but when GenAssist teams customized the Lavalier to their needs, the pinnace was part of the package.
As part of the survivalist capability, the pinnace was redesigned primarily as a fuel shuttle, able to carry enough fuel to completely fill the Parthenolab's fuel tanks in 3 trips. All other functions were secondary to this purpose.
In practice, those secondary functions are used far more often. It can ship passengers - clones from the Parthenolab, usually - 12 at a time. It can fold away the passenger seating to ship 3 tons of cargo at a time, such as purchased ore and supplies from a world to the Parthenolab or cybernetics in the other direction for sale. When the Parthenolab mines asteroids, the Parthenopinnace can collect the ore blasted loose if it is not busy gathering fuel. It even has a single beam laser turret for minimal self-defense.
The near-vestigial wings were strengthened to make fuel skimming in gas giant atmospheres safer and surer. In practice, this is more often used when deliveries - primarily of clones - are violently objected to by certain parties near the delivery site.

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. [1]
| Basic Ship Characteristics [2] | ||
|---|---|---|
| No. | Category | Remarks |
| 1. | Tonnage / Hull | Tonnage: 40 tons (standard). 560 cubic meters. Streamlined Airframe Hull.
|
| 2. | Crew | Crew: 1 Pilot, 1 Gunner. Outside of combat, the gunner ordinarily handles comms and all non-piloting tasks, including final briefing of the passengers when needed. |
| 3. | Performance | Acceleration: 5-G maneuver drive installed. |
| 4. | Electronics | Model/1 ship computer. |
| 5. | Hardpoints | 1 firmpoint, with potential to add 1 more. |
| 6. | Armament | 1 turret with a beam laser. |
| 7. | Defenses | The same turret, intended more for defense. |
| 8. | Craft | None. Vacc suits required for most EVA (extra-vehicle activity). Rescue Balls for crew escape normally carried. |
| 9. | Fuel Treatment | It is typically equipped with fuel scoops but no fuel purification plant, as the plant is left on the Parthenolab. |
| 10. | Cost | MCr10.125 (no architect's fees, those having been financed by GenAssist). MCr9.1125 in quantity. |
| 11. | Construction Time | 1.5 weeks standard, 1 in quantity. |
| 12. | Remarks | A pinnace specialized for use by the Parthenolab class Bio-Construction Vessel. |
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Creating the Parthenopinnace was part of the upgrades to make the Parthenolab class Bio-Construction Vessel class. While it is a decent enough multipurpose pinnace, able to carry a modest set of passengers or cargo, its primary use as a fuel shuttle means it is substantially less favored than standard pinnaces in this role and thus is rarely encountered independently of a Parthenolab.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
Ship Interior Details: A Parthenopinnace has two small engineering pods containing power plant and maneuver drive to the rear. These can only be entered externally.
Aside from this, the only compartment is up front, combining the bridge and three acceleration benches. Each bench can be folded away individually, trading passenger capacity to gain a bit of cargo space.
Class Naming Practice/s: Parthenopinnaces are generally named for their parent ship, e.g. one based off the Ceres might be named Ceres Cutter.
