Oedzksuentsoegh has a tainted unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. This a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Democracy of Greats in the Engakhs Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

System Data[edit]

The Oedzksuentsoegh solar system presents an F2 V primary and is plentiful wilderness refueling at the four Gas Giants. In fact, every world in the same stellar cluster features Gas Giants. With such system resources available and the lack of water on the mainworld, planetary refueling is illegal with a lethal punishment without trial. Intake scoops and processor plants are the rule rather than an option aboard all spacecraft. The system has nine other planets that sometimes attract resource wildcatters. Lacking planetoid belts, there are no belter communities or seekers in-system.

System Importance (Ix)[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld has few resources, but does manage to trade in one commodity keeping it from being completely neglected. A holdover from its pre-revolt days is the synthesis of zuchai crystals used in starship jump drives. Artifical crystal growth is a secret kept and shared by the planet’s female Vargr who are descendants of the original, spacefaring colonists. Having artificial zuchai crystals as opposed to having none, keeps the Corsairs from letting Oedzksuentsoegh slip entirely into obscurity. The commodity’s source is kept hidden through an underworld system of back alley dealings on other worlds. Demand is high at the local, shanty Startown and yet no female will give up their secrets willingly. It is the balance between source deception and demand for the commodity that keep this system on the map. Though the Corsairs would love to gain the secret of artificial crystal generation, they have yet to make any headway with the deep desert nomads.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

This world is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

This world has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

This world has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Oedzkipede: The deserts of the Oedzksuentsoegh mainworld feature a burrowing, desert evolution of centipedes. the Oedzkipedes, that can reach up to twenty meters in length. Smaller varieties can charge a Vargr with quick bursts of speed despite the Thin and Tainted atmosphere. Many a desert nomad community has been run down by these fast insects of the sands. Hunting packs defend their encampments and mountain dens from such monsters while ranging forth into the open desert to drag home large centipede which can feed an entire tribe for a month. Carapace from centipedes, if undamaged can be fashioned into makeshift huts with some tooling. Desert tribes are taught how to perform emergency sheltering if such a large insect can be brought down and processed.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The eight million strong populace of Oedzksuentsoegh (Knoellighz 1316) Da He Ni Po {-3} Amber were so badly neglected by the Democracy of Greats after colonization that the mainworld plummeted to TL-3 in under a hundred years. In protest gone too far, the cement and plaster Downport and every spaceship and starship was demolished with dynamite-based shape charges and urban renewal cord explosives. Before the polity’s Naval forces could properly respond, another emergency in the 10-world cluster, a ‘Great’, called off the fleet. In their stead, the local Corsair Base stepped in and flattened the ruined Downport with conventional, starship weaponry. The Corsair leader then set himself up as the Non-Charismatic Dictator without consulting the dirtside populace and dared anyone to approach the ruined Downport and challenge him.

The desert Vargr Packs soon cowed under this new Corsair rule one tribe at a time as the Downport was also adjacent to the planet’s only open body of water. After the last tribe submitted to the Corsair Dictator’s rule, the Downport was restored to an E-rating landing field under the tutelage of the Corsairs. By the time the local cluster Navy arrived, the Corsair ships had departed for secret coves. Seeing that order had been restored by local interests, caravanserai merchants, and hearing the subjugated reports of the new desert Alphas, the Navy was content to move on. The deception was successful and the Corsairs soon returned to maintain a new oasis order. In return for water, trade and minimal planetary support from the Corsair blockade, the Packs yielded to the harsh desert law. Paramilitary law enforcement was instituted by drawing Corsairs to a new career in haphazard Law Enforcement. Punishments meant exile into the open desert without survival supplies.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Oedzksuentsoegh has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

This world has a population of 1,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Demographics[edit]

Vargr, population 95%

  • Other, population 5%

World Government (G)[edit]

Oedzksuentsoegh is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. A continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and replaced by allies or protégés. The reasons for the change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

This world has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

  • With such an unforgiving Law Rating of B on Oedzksuentsoegh, it is natural that the Vargr Packs have quietly developed factions while paying lip service to the Corsairs at the rebuilding capital, makeshift Startown and rudimentary Downport. Each faction clashes with other tribes, violently rallies its Packs, fights guerrilla skirmishes to test the Corsair Law Enforcement control of the planet. The end result is a hot simmer of tempers below a false air of growling trade. It is for this reason the world has become labeled with a Vargr version of an Amber Zone, a Dangerous world of Infighting, turf wars, tribal desert raiding and occasional rebellion against the Corsairs in power.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Oedzksuentsoegh possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.

World Military[edit]

No information yet available.

World Economy (Ex)[edit]

Oedzksuentsoegh trades mainly with Kegzdar with help from Ruegueks (Knoellighz 1415 and 1416 respectively) for food, water and other products to ease life on a Hellworld. As long as trade flows and the Corsairs take what they want first of the arriving vessels, life scrapes by at a minimum needed to avoid a Failing world rating.
