The Oedzkipede is a creature lifeform that is not a sophont.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The deserts of the Oedzksuentsoegh (Knoellighz 1316) mainworld feature a burrowing, desert evolution of centipedes. the Oedzkipedes, that can reach up to twenty meters in length. Smaller varieties can charge a Vargr with quick bursts of speed despite the Thin and Tainted atmosphere. Many a desert nomad community has been run down by these fast insects of the sands. Hunting packs defend their encampments and mountain dens from such monsters while ranging forth into the open desert to drag home large centipede which can feed an entire tribe for a month.

The Oedzkipede is a cold-blooded, insect Beast that has been photographed at distance, sunning its carapace on rocky outcrops of the desert.
Life Cycle & Reproduction[edit]
The life cycle of an Oedzkipede is egg-laying nest that produces 2 to 12 larvae per season. The creature has two sexes and reproduces sexually, often in underground burrows.

Though evolved as a scavenger and a carrion collector, the Oedzkipede can easily hunt as a carnivore.

The carapace from these centipedes, if undamaged can be fashioned into makeshift huts with some tooling. Desert tribes are taught how to perform emergency sheltering if such a large insect can be brought down and processed. Vargr preserve the segment shells for hut rooftops. Leg tips can be fashioned into tent stakes or spear tips when needed. The lean musculature is often cooked with heavy seasoning when a specimen can be killed. These creatures are often hunting sport for brave Packs of Vargr seasonally. The venom of the Oedzkpiede is paralytic and strikes the motor, muscular nerves before deadening the sensory nerves leading to horror stories that a victim can still feel the feeding action of one of these monsters before death.
