Description[edit]

Most of this subsector was settled from Bruhkarr between 400 and 615, or -- subsequently -- by corporations to support trade routes.

The only viable commercial jump-2 route between the Third Imperium and the Corellan League crosses this subsector.

The starports at Drygalski and Diversion were constructed by the General Development Corporation in the mid-900s, in an abortive attempt to increase trade with the Corellan League.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116[edit]

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector:

  • -1408: Humans from the collapsing Sindalian Empire first settle Yangikent.
  • 615: Succession Crisis of the Principality of Bruhkarr. Having been ruled for six centuries by Bruhkarr, Katanga and other worlds secede during the following civil war.
  • 618: The Katanga Free State annexes the agricultural worlds of Teme and Dagocag.
  • 622: The representative democracy of the Katanga Free State collapses, emancipating the two subservient systems. An experiment in direct democracy called the Katanga Peoples Combine results.
  • 630: General Javin Oresta seizes control of the unstable Katanga state, creating the Katanga Empire.
