Pingue is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Katanga Subsector of The Beyond Sector.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Pingue has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
With just enough mass for a stable magnetosphere, some gravity, and some protection from the fierce radiation of solar winds, this planet looked attractive enough to early colonists drawn from asteroid systems. The feeble atmosphere means that crops are raised in large greenhouses. Large orbital mirrors gather enough sunlight to make this practical. Many belter tourists come here to give birth and rest and recuperate after injury in systems without larger planetary bodies.
World Starport[edit]
Pingue has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Military[edit]
The governor is protected by a dedicated security force. This force is low tech by Imperial standards but is effective against comparable local forces. The governor has hired the unit out as a Mercenary force against the Katanga Empire. They also add security for the scout base located near the shipyards. The governor has an imported cyborg bodyguard codenamed Baby Doll, CFC882. She carries two 4mm gauss pistols, w/ shoulder holsters, 10 magazines (15), and a pair of custom gravity assist boots add considerable leaping ability.
Pingue is the home base of the Fagad Protected Forces Marine Expeditionary Space Force.
New Era[edit]
By 1150, this traditionally independent world was colonized by the Avalar Consulate.
