System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

I'zhrl orbits towards the inner edge of the habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

I'zhrl is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

I'zhrl has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

I'zhrl has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Native lifeforms thrive in arid conditions.

Many native species are used as riding animals, beasts of burden, draft animals, and are kept as livestock.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

I'zhrl is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.

  • Travel to this world is prohibited.

The population are genetically Zhodani but much about origins remains unknown. What is certain is that I'zhrl was first settled thousands of years ago and that contact was subsequently lost. During their long isolation the inhabitants developed their own native culture, retaining very little of their Zhodani heritage. A system of Psionics teaching was maintained, however, that bears remarkable similarities to modern Zhodani psionics.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

I'zhrl does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Population (P)[edit]

I'zhrl has a population of 70,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

  • The population entirely consists of humans of Zhodani descent.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

I'zhrl possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.

  • These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
  • This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
    • Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
    • Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.

World Government (G)[edit]

I'zhrl is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.

World Law (L)[edit]

I'zhrl has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
