To Humans, this subsector is also known as NX-38. This designation originates from an obscure Terran numbering system which fell into disuse before the fall of the Rule of Man.

Its two star systems are sometimes fancifully referred to as Victein's Fingertips, and some charts list the subsector as 'Tips' rather than by its archaic numeric designation.
