Erzhach is a nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a member of the Zhodani Consulate and part of Colonnade Province in the Vanguard Subsector of Fulani Sector.
  • Vacuum worlds have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
  • This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Erzhach has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a turbulent red giant.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the far outer system.

Chart Orbit Outer Region.png

  • The world orbits just within the star's enormous Jump Shadow.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Erzhach is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Erzhach has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Erzhach has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Satellites[edit]

Erzhach retains a tiny planetoid moon.

  • Its surface is cratered and irregular
  • It orbits once every few days.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Erzhach is relatively quiet with little development, though the economy is improving and standards of living are rising.

A few organizations and private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is sporadic: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
  • Commo regularly picks up signals and private chatter. Communications are in Zdetl.
  • The star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
  • One or two commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • A few vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
  • Exploratory or survey vessels may be active in the system.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Erzhach has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Erzhach has a population of 30,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Urbanization[edit]

A few small urban centers are surrounded by satellite communities.

  • Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
  • Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
  • Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Erzhach possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Erzhach has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Military[edit]

Approximately 150 personnel, answering to individual leaders, supplemented by militias and privately hired personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Erzhach has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -1 (unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: A (abundant)
  • Labor: 3 (thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
  • Efficiency: +2 (good)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
  • Acceptance: 3 (xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
  • Symbols: D (very abstract)
